Half Marathon Training (Spring 2017)

Program Start: Saturday, February 25 at 7:45 a.m. at TBD
Program Schedule: Saturdays at 7:45 a.m. at various locations in Sonoma County and on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., for speed work (location TBA)
Goal Race: Avenue of the Giants Half Marathon, May 7 or Windsor Green Half Marathon, May 21, 2017
Program Fee: $99 (does not include race registration) $79 for prior FF participant
Description: Train to run or run/walk your first half or improve your race time. This training will prepare you for a half marathon by increasing your run fitness through gradually increasing mileage, working on run form, better biomechanics, and coached workouts to help you run faster. First run is 6 miles and each week the distance increases by a mile. To get the most out of this group, we suggest that you currently run or run/walk 5 miles and able to maintain a 14 minute per mile pace. Information meeting: Thursday, February 16, 6:00 p.m. at Fleet Feet, 111 Third Street, Santa Rosa, where you will meet your coaches and hear more about how this program works.
