Santa Rosa Marathon Training Group (Summer 2018)

Program Start: Saturday, May 12th 2018, 7:30 am
Program Schedule: Saturdays at 7:30 am, Tuesdays at 5:30 pm
Goal Race: Santa Rosa Marathon
Program Fee: $199 excluding race fee
Description: Destination races are fun and a great way to see different regions, but this is a full marathon that allows you to sleep in your own bed, know the course intimately, and run your best time. The course is largely flat with only a few rolling hills midway. The race begins and ends in Old Courthouse Square, and while 2017 turned out to be quite warm, most years it has been relatively cool and even overcast. Join us in a fun group setting to train for the full marathon, make new friends, and avoid doing your long runs all by yourself! The coaching staff are experienced both with leading marathon groups and with running marathons themselves, so you can be confident of being well prepared. The group meets for coached workouts on Saturday mornings at 7:30 am at various locations around Sonoma County, and on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm for speed work and hill repeats. This group will help you get through your first marathon or provide the tools to improve your finishing time. All participants should be able to run or run/walk 9 miles, have completed a recent half marathon, and be able to maintain a 14 minute per mile pace. Summer Youth Track Club (Summer 2018)

Program Start: June 5th, 2018 4:30 pm
Program Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Montgomery High School, track meets every other Tuesday at Santa Rosa High School from 6-8 p.m.
Goal Race: Empire Runners Summer Track Series
Program Fee: $85*, $75 for returning participants *family discounts available
Description: The Fleet Feet Santa Rosa summer youth track program is about promoting confidence and enjoyment for youth to participate in the Summer Track Series by Empire Runners. The group is designed for ages 6-13 (age exceptions may be allowed after discussion with the coach). Every other Tuesday the program will allow kids to race in the Summer Track Series with the guidance of coaches. NEW for 2018, we will divide the kids into a beginning and intermediate group. We have had many returning young athletes who want to up their skill levels, as well as very new athletes who are still just starting out so we want to be able to accommodate both groups. The groups will still meet at the same time/location to accommodate families, but will have different workout structures. The kids will learn all the track basics, differences between sprinting and long distance, what type of track events there are, and learn which events they prefer. This program will primarily focus on running events and long jump. Overall, the main purpose of this program is to show kids how to enjoy running, racing, and competing. Beginning and Intermediate tracks available. Tuesday and Thursday practices will be held at Montgomery High School and every other Tuesday track meets (five total) will also take place at Cardinal Newman High School. Trail Group - Summer 2018

Program Start: Sunday May 13th, 2018, 8 am
Program Schedule: Sunday at 8 am, locations TBA, Tuesday at 5:30 pm at Finley Center in Santa Rosa.
Goal Race: Ragnar Trail - Tahoe CA
Program Fee: $75 (does not include race entry)
Description: Train with the best friends you haven't yet met with fun Sunday morning trail runs, mostly in beautiful Annadel State Park, and with monthly destination runs in Sonoma and Marin counties. Guest coaches will be on hand to organize the Sunday long runs, and coached Tuesday evening speed work sessions are also part of the program. The goal race for this group is the Ragnar Tahoe trail relay on July 20th and 21st.

Santa Rosa 10K or Half Marathon Training Summer 2018

Program Start: Saturday June 9th, 7:30 am
Program Fee: ex: $100 excluding race fee
Description: If you have always thought of doing a 10K or half marathon, come train with us! Our 12 week 10K and half marathon training program is specifically designed to prepare runners and run/walkers for the 6.2 or 13.1 mile distance. First run is June 9 from Fleet Feet Sports, 111 Third Street, Santa Rosa. Starting at 3 miles (10K) or 6 miles (half) with each week increasing by a mile. Weekday runs are no longer than an hour. The goal race for this training group is the Santa Rosa 10K or Half Marathon the weekend of August 25th-26th, 2018.
